Happy Tuesday & Welcome Back!
We had an eventful week this past one and also some unexpected time off. I hope everyone is well rested and enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. In Reading class, we will finish up Unit 1;Lesson 2 in our Florida iReady Workbooks and later in the week begin Lesson 3. Homework in Reading will be free reading for 30 minutes every Monday through Thursday night. They may choose any reading material they like for the time being. Students must complete at least 3/4 of a page journal entry in their Reading Comprehension Notebooks for each 30 minute nightly reading session. Please include the date, material read, and page numbers. I will definelty be checking notebooks for this early this week. Also, Star Assessment scores went home early last week. If your child was absent for Star testing the makeup day is Sept 13th. In English Language Arts class we will continue reading our Collections curriculum. Students in 6th grade will be having a Quiz on their first reading, The Ravine, on Wednesday. Students can expect homework tied to these readings in the future. I have usernames passwords for the students that I will be passing out today so they may have at home access to the program for homework, reviewing, and studying. Have a fantastic week. Ms. Hayes |
