Happy Sunday Parents and Students,
The past couple weeks have been busy. We began diving into ELA head first.. In the morning class, we completed Unit 1; Lesson 1 and we are now working on Lesson 2 in our Florida iReady Workbooks.. These are both part of the Key Ideas and Details Unit. This is an intensive and effective curriculum that has a proven track record with other Imagine Schools and showed excellent results last year. I am excited to see our students benefit from utilizing it daily. The workbooks will remain in the classroom for in class work to ensure they are available daily for all the students to benefit from. In English Language Arts class we will begin our Collections curriculum. This is an interactive program including virtual close readings, and various ELA skill practices. We will be working with these texts throughout the year as a whole group and in cooperative learning groups within the classroom. Students may review and study the readings by logging on to the Collections website. The link to log in and grade level log in information can be found at the bottom of the COURSE INFO page on this website. Reminders: Picture Day! Monday 8/27/18 - (Pre-paid) Details were sent home with the students last week. Have a fantastic afternoon. See you tomorrow! Ms. Hayes Hello Parents & Students,

Today the student’s took their 1st STAR Reading Assesments for the year today and we will be finishing up with a few student’s later this week. Once that is done we can start going over our scores and utilizing them as a tool to improve. We have also begun Florida Ready Workbooks UNIT 1 / Lesson 1. In addition, myself and our school technology department are working on getting the chromebooks set up for our classroom. |
