Good Afternoon,
In 6th grade Reading we are beginning to read Tuck Everlasting in reading. This is the book listed on the syllabus in the beginning of the year. Please have them start bringing it to class everyday if they have it or as soon as they get it if you don't already have a copy. In ELA class, we are continuing Unit 3 in our Collections Packets. Remember, this material can be reviewed and studied at home anytime by using the username and password sent home for Collections and going to https://my.hrw.com There are also usernames and passwords for use posted on this blog if you scroll back. Reminder- 6th Grade Reading/ELA FSA is Monday 4/17 and Tuesday 4/18
Get a good night sleep and good luck! You got this! :) Hey Everyone,
Just a quick update on Reading and ELA Class. In Reading class, we are testing on Unit 6 in our Florida Ready Workbooks. For the reminder of the week I plan to review any elements of the Florida Ready workbooks the students feel they need extra explanation Please remember since so much of the reading class is done in class, the student's attendance and attention in class is crucial to do well in this class. In addition, please remember student's homework for Reading class is 30 minutes of free reading and a 1 page journal entry nightly. This should be done Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and will be checked randomly without notice to ensure it is being kept up with. In ELA class, we are continuing Unit 3 in our Collections Packets. Remember, this material can be reviewed and studied at home anytime by using the username and password sent home for Collections and going to https://my.hrw.com There are also usernames and passwords for use posted on this blog if you scroll back. The Reading FSA for 6th grade will be April 17th and 18th. Please encourage students to be confident and get a good nights rest the nights before. Please remember you can stay up to date with student grades by logging into Focus (Parent Portal). If you do not already have access, please contact the office for paperwork and log in information for you student. Please also make sure that your student still has the supplies they need for class (notebooks, paper, pencils, pens and anything else they might need). We are half way through the year and many of them are coming to class without them. Ms. Hayes |
