Hope you had a nice weekend! Here is an update about what we have going on in Reading and ELA. In Reading class, we are still working through Unit 4 in our Florida Ready Workbooks. Please remember since so much of the reading class is done in class, the student's attendance and attention in class is crucial to do well in this class. In addition, please remember student's homework for Reading class is 30 minutes of free reading and a 1 page journal entry nightly. This should be done Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and will be checked randomly without notice to ensure it is being kept up with. In ELA class, we are busy with Informative Essay Writing. Students will be going through the process of reading, organizating, and writing that we have been reviewing and practicing for the past two weeks. No quizzes or tests have been given so far and students will receive a grade based on their participation this week. They have received a packet to take home and carry with them to class to work in EVERY DAY. This packet will be graded on completion as we go through it and also at the end of the Unit. Please remember you can stay up to date with student grades by logging into Focus (Parent Portal). If you do not already have access, please contact the office for paperwork and log in information for you student. Please also make sure that your student still has the supplies they need for class (notebooks, paper, pencils, pens and anything else they might need). We are half way through the year and many of them are coming to class without them. Ms. Hayes Greetings, here is an update about what we have going on in Reading and ELA.
